iDO Devices Raises $4 Million from Blume Ventures and Merak Ventures
iDO Devices Private Limited, an Indian original design manufacturer (ODM) specializing in connected devices, has successfully
raised $4 million (around ₹34 crore) in funding. The round was led by Blume Ventures and Merak Ventures, two prominent early-stage
investors. This fresh infusion of capital will enable the company to strengthen its product design and development ecosystem,
establish an innovation centre in India, and expand its capabilities for global markets.
The company currently develops consumer-connectivity devices with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi features. With the new
funding, it plans to expand into GPS and GSM-based technologies, broadening its portfolio to meet diverse client needs. iDO also
intends to enhance its expertise across the hardware-software stack, including firmware development, system software, hardware
layout and design, and even chipset (SoC) development for greater control over key components.
Leadership at iDO believes this investment reflects the growing recognition of India’s potential in deep engineering and
full-stack product design. According to the investors, iDO Devices is a strong example of how Indian talent can move beyond
software services into advanced product design and delivery. The global product design and fulfilment market is projected to reach
$15 billion by 2025, and iDO hopes to capture a meaningful share of this opportunity.
Currently, the company employs over 100 engineers across India and China, and it collaborates with international partners to serve
clients in the United States, Europe, and other regions. The planned innovation centre in India will act as a hub for R&D,
technology development, and intellectual property creation. It is also expected to accelerate customer acquisition and strengthen
the company’s delivery capabilities.
For the investors, this bet is about backing India’s growing hardware and product-tech ecosystem. Blume Ventures and Merak
Ventures emphasized that while India is already known for its IT services and software startups, the next wave of growth lies in
hardware, embedded systems, and end-to-end product design. Companies like iDO Devices demonstrate how India can evolve into a
global hub for not just software development but also world-class hardware and device innovation.
The funding round highlights a broader shift in investor confidence, showing that startups with ambitions to design, build, and
own their intellectual property in hardware and electronics are beginning to attract serious backing. With this capital, iDO
Devices is well-positioned to scale, innovate, and contribute to India’s rise as a global product-tech powerhouse.
